Will Smith returns to the movie scene with this film based on the book of the same name, I Am Legend. Will plays Robert Neville, a scientist in 2012 New York who is the only survivor of a biochemical disease that, ironically, was supposed to cure cancer but turned everyone into blood thirsty zombies instead.

REM are back with their fourteenth studio album - Accelerate. Four years after their last album ‘Around the Sun’, the veteran indie rockers return triumphantly with aggressive and powerful songs including the current single ‘Supernatural Serious’ which apparently was named by Coldplay lead Chris Martin.

They were on Radio 1 Live Lounge with Jo Whiley last week they performed their current single and a cover of Editors’ Munich, which I wasn’t very impressed with but it’s obvious that Editors have had an inspiration on their new album.

This is the tracklisting for the album ‘Accelerate’:

Provisional Tracklistings:

Today's Product of the Day is dedicated to the winners - and losers - of last night's eventful Brit Awards.

Last night the Brits 2008 showed the world why us Britons are the most talented… and most eccentric. With Sharon showing up her husband in the swearing stakes, Amy Winehouse with her strange dancing and a couple of popstars proving that you don’t have to be a size zero to hand out awards, it was yet another eventful ceremony. The winners were as follows, with our opinions on the side

Outstanding Contribution to Music - Paul McCartney

No argument there. Good luck in the case, Macca!

British Album - Arctic Monkeys / Favourite Worst Nightmare

They’re good, but this album was more of the same. Mark Ronson was much more deserving with his fantastic album and Mika’s Cartoon Motion album is a fabulous collection of feel-good hits.

British Single - Take That / Shine

None of the nominations were really ‘amazing’ singles and whilst this Take That tune is an anthemic hark back to the good ol’ nineties, it now reminds me of Morrissons every time I hear it.

British Group - Arctic Monkeys

Seriously? The Monkeys? The Kaisers were blatantly the group of the year with their brilliant album and outstanding performances such as the one I saw in Preston at Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

International Album - Foo Fighters / Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace

Another great album from the Foos, who I will be seeing in Wembley this Summer.

British Female Solo Artist - Kate Nash

I absolutely hated ‘Foundations’ but ‘Pumpkin Soup’ is strangely addictive. Besides, who the hell is Bat for Lashes or PJ Harvey?

International Group - Foo Fighters

The nominations were almost identical to those for international album, so fittingly the Foos take the award for this too.

International Female Solo Artist - Kylie Minogue

Is she not old enough to receive outstanding contribution? She’s still a quality lass who is still pumping out some camp dance tunes (similar to Madonna, non?) but Rihanna totally deserved this award as she has had a phenomenal year.

British Male Solo Artist - Mark Ronson

He’s made some brilliant music this year, but he doesn’t sing and he’s not strictly a Brit. Mika was deserving for some outstanding performances at the festivals and his passion and hopefully we’ll see more of the cool Newton Faulkner soon.

International Male Solo Artist - Kanye West

Timbaland has made some cracking tunes this year, but Kanye is the man and so scoops yet another award.

British Breakthrough Act - Mika

Again, I don’t think Mika is strictly British but after the year he has had, he really deserves this award and I hope to hear more cracking tunes from him in the coming year.

Critics Choice - Adele

Adele has had one song on the radar. One.

British Live Act - Take That

OK, so I didn’t see the lads perform live but did they climb the scaffolding on the stage like Ricky Wilson of the Kaisers? The Chiefs have had some outstanding perfomances this year.

So there you go - today’s Product of the Day is, well, all of them! Click here to be taken to CD Wow! where they have the albums and singles that have deservedly given these winners a silver ornament to take home to show their parents, from as little as £3.99!

The Product of the Day today will find out if your mates are liars, electrocute them and was featured on the Chris Moyle show! We look at the Electric Shocking Lie Detector.

Featured on the Chris Moyles show this morning was this groovy gadget - the Shocking Liar or Electric Shock Lie Detector game. Get your mates round and see if they’re telling lies by strapping their hand to this strange, helmet shaped gizmo and ask them questions. The machine detects if their answer is the truth or a big fat porky and if it’s the latter, they receive an electric shock!

This shocking lie detector, after a lot of debate and difficulty from the Chris Moyles team, has proved that Aled is from Scotland and that Chris Moyles has slept with Sara Cox. If you want to find equally stunning secrets from your mates, and the sadistic pleasure of seeing them electrocuted whilst trying to tell you they don’t think about your mum in that way, then buy the Shocking Liar from Findmeagift.com for only £19.90.

The most hyped movie of this century has finally been released. The trailer that teased us many months ago spawned hundreds of strange theories and rumours about what attack the city and whilst we won't reveal anything that will spoil the movie, we will tell you whether you should see it or not!

There are no spoilers in this review!

Seeing as you’re on the internet, I barely need to introduce Cloverfield; one of the most hyped movies of this millennium. Produced by J J Abrams, the guy behind Lost, Cloverfield has been highly anticipated since a teaser trailer was shown before Transformers depicting some sort of earthquake in New York followed by the head of the Statue of Liberty landing in a street. Since then, the internet has been alive with theories and rumours about the movie and it’s ‘monster’.

The film revolves around a group of New Yorkers who find themselves in the middle of an attack by an anonymous entity and handily for us, one of the group has a video camera recording the action. Hud is the man behind the camera commentating on the events that unfold starting at a leaving party held for Rob and attended by friends/family Marlena, Lily and Jason. Apparently an earthquake strikes the city and the group head into the streets to find out more and this is where the action starts.

Admittedly the first twenty or so minutes are a bit of a drag but set up the characters quite nicely. Following events from the perspective of the camera becomes second nature and serves to add more phenomenal realism into what is, in essence, a CGI monster attacks city movie. The simple fact that the events are filmed from this perspective is the movies saving grace and if the story was filmed via normal methods, it would be nowhere near as good.

Like I say, I shan’t spoil anything because that is the second perfect feature of the movie in that the trailers reveal nothing. It’s a very real and scary experience following this group of adults around New York in first person view, not knowing what is around the next corner, not knowing what is threatening the city and not knowing how they are going to escape.

The monster reveals itself slowly throughout the movie and there are some fantastic set pieces. Highlights include the scene in which the group get caught up in an attack march by the army, the scene in the subway tunnels, the scene in the makeshift hospital and the scene with the helicopter. No spoilers, but enough to whet your appetite and enough for those who have watched the movie to reminisce over their favourite moments.

Cloverfield is a fantastic survival horror/monster action flick and I highly recommend you watch it.

First of all, we’re sorry for the lack of Product of the Day updates recently, in between Internet difficulties, Phil’s day job and my random adventures to Paris, Aberdeen and Glasgow and everything in between, plus jobhunting! Still we’re back in style with one of the best movie triologies released recently, and you can still get it in time for Christmas. What more could you possibly want!!

Matt Damon has produced some his greatest work in his role as Jason Bourne in this trilogy of Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Ultimatum. With a host of glittering co-stars the trilogy starts with Bourne’s wounded body being discovered by fisherman who nurse him back to health. He can remember nothing and therefore has to be hin to rebuild his life and find out who he actually is, with plenty of distractions along the way, such as fake passports and Swiss bank accounts. He’s a wanted man and the triology follows him through his path of learning, while trying to complete missions and find out who he is, while trying to evade those trying to kill him. With plenty of twists and stunning action sequences this trilogy is well worth watching, its perfect for a dull and unexciting Boxing Day!

This may seem like a fairly random blog title by most readers of the Hanlor blog. But it’s been driving us crazy for the past week or so. We use a stats program which tells us how many visitors we get (don’t worry - it can’t track any personal information), but it also tells us what you put into Google (or other search engines) to find us. One of the key phrases that people were searching for every single day was “typeface used by the daily express”. Heavens knows why people want to know this. But the same phrase has been searched for pretty much every day by more and more people.

It actually sends people to an older blog post, which mentions typeface in one paragraph and the Daily Express in another, so it doesn’t actually provide an answer. So we thought, seeing as so many people were searching for it, we would find the answer. But it’s impossible. We tried encyclopaedias, search engines, design blogs, everything. We tried one of those text answer services you use at pub quizzes and they didn’t know the answer. So we tried another text answer service. We waited. And waited.

About four hours later we got a reply: “We apologise for your wait but happily can solve your query. The Daily Express uses….”. Are you ready? The Daily Express uses typeface News701. Now that we’ve provided the answer (after many hours searching and about £1.50 spent getting the answer) please, please tell us why you want to know?

Forgot to buy the lady in your life a Christmas Present? Its not too late to get her a superb piece of jewellery as we show you with today’s product of the day.

Yesterday we showed you a pair of hair straighteners, and while its all well and good for a present it lacks that vital romantic touch for your wife or girlfriend. Therefore Todays product is something perfect to show your love for a loved one and available for just half price today, not that she’ll ever know. This superb piece is 9ct White Gold and 183 millimetres in length. They say a picture tells a thousand words and its especially true in this case, no words can describe the beauty of this piece. An absolutely amazing surprise present for the missus to open on Christmas Day.

Women are crazy about their fashion accessories. A few years ago you never saw anyone with straighteners, however nowadays every woman has at least one set, if not two or even three! ! We can’t see the fuss but we’ve taken some female advice and these are whats in this season!

These straigtheners feature loads of superb features, automatic shut off so you dont burn your house down, as well as special hotplates to reduce Frizz and strain (which I suppose is a good thing?!).The main feature is the constant stream of negatively charged ions, which is something your more likely to find in a science lab than hair products but whatever. These make a perfect Christmas present for the image-crazy woman or women in your life!.
